(09 08 14)  Chief Meekis and the Keewaywin Council are meeting in KO's Thunder Bay's offices this week to discuss a variety of issues including housing, education and various ways to honour the founder of their first nation community.  Dr. Scott Hamilton of Lakehead University did a presentation to the Chief and Council on strategies to collect and preserve historical data about their community as a first step towards creating an effective land-use planning and improving educational opportunities for Keewaywin children and youth.  Dr. Hamilton has agreed to conduct a presentation for the KO Land-Use Workers later this year.
